Perfect panoramic view thanks to AI
Facebook’s AI research team is called FAIR. Their current project involves a new system, based around neural networks, that is designed to increase the display quality of 360-degree photos. The horizontal line in uploaded photos can sometimes be skewed, thus causing distortion in the image. Facebook’s new software will analyse core values and correct the angle to optimise the view. The technology is not yet in production, but it will be soon. The social media giant has put a greater focus on the topic, because its new App Spaces demands high-resolution 360-degree photos for a perfect VR experience.
We wish FAIR continued success in the development of these neural networks.
